The Park family have been farming at Buston on the Northumberland coastal plain since 1965. In addition to growing oil seed rape, we grow wheat, potatoes and a variety of cover crops aimed at reducing our dependence on artificial fertilisers. If you’d like to know more about the farm see www.bustonpotatoes.co.uk or www.heritagebustonpotatoes.co.uk.
Food provenance is increasingly important and this coupled with the fact that we, as food producers, want to be as close to our customers as possible, means that we are open 7 days a week for farm-gate sales. So if you live in the NE65 area or are holidaying nearby come and see us! We also offer oil refills – just order the quantity you need from the Shop and we’ll arrange a time to top you up.
Seabanks – the field – varies from sand through to clay and is part of our crop rotation. Oil seed rape is grown in it every seven years. When combining in Seabanks it really is the best view from any office – beautiful Alnmouth to the North and Coquet Island (home to a colony of Roseate terns and nesting Puffins), the bustling port of Amble and Warkworth Castle to the South.
Our coastal location, soil type and climate give Seabanks a truly unique flavour.
